An investment costs money. But a good investment returns far more than what you initially put into it. Perhaps you’ve put up with a perfectly functional but less-than-perfect smile because you think spending money on cosmetic dentistry is selfish, vain, or just plain unnecessary. After all, it’s called cosmetic dentistry for a reason, right?

Well, sure. But just because cosmetic dentistry’s goal is to improve the appearance of your smile, that doesn’t mean that it is not a good investment. Think of everything you will get in return.

With a gorgeous new grin, your self-confidence and overall sense of well-being will go through the roof. You will be more at ease in social situations, and less inclined to avoid them altogether. This can translate into more friends, more opportunities, and a better chance of meeting The One.

And you may even reap professional and financial returns. Is a would-be employer more likely to hire a self-conscious person who seems hesitant to smile — or someone who smiles easily and exudes self-assurance?

If you live in or around Jeffersonville, IN and are unhappy with the look of your teeth or gums, Kirchner Dental has a whole menu of cosmetic procedures that transform dingy, worn-down smiles into megawatt grins.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers, quite simply, work like magic. If your teeth are discolored, chipped, mildly misaligned, gapped, worn down, rough around the edges — or any combination of those things — veneers give you a flawless smile that’s designed to last a lifetime.

And if you have minor chips and cracks (which can allow in bacteria and lead to disease), veneers seal them up and help prevent infection from taking hold.

Veneers are basically thin porcelain covers that adhere to the fronts of your teeth. They are custom-crafted for you, so they will fit your teeth perfectly and be an exact match for the color of your teeth.

At Kirchner Dental, we offer three types of dental veneers. e.max veneers are strong, durable and stain resistant. A thin layer of enamel will have to be removed from your teeth before Dr. Kirchner fits them.

Lumineers and DuraThin veneers are prepless. This means they are so thin, they can be placed without any enamel being removed. Although thin, they are tough and long-lasting.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics aren’t just for teenagers any more. And with ClearCorrect and Invisalign clear aligners, you can straighten your teeth without going around for two years with a mouth full of metal.

Both ClearCorrect and Invisalign work in generally the same way. Each system utilizes a series of clear plastic aligners that are custom made to your teeth and desired outcome. You wear each aligner for a certain number of weeks, then switch to the next aligner, and so on. The aligners are clear, so most people won’t be able to see that you are wearing them, and they are removable. This means you don’t have to limit what you eat, like you do with traditional braces. Plus, you will take them out for cleaning, so you won’t have to change your brushing and flossing routine.

Both systems are typically worn for six months to a year — they work their magic fast!

Dr. Kirchner will be happy to discuss whether you are a good candidate for clear aligners, and which type makes the most sense for you.

Teeth Whitening

If your teeth are in pretty good shape, but are stained or dingy, we offer Zoom professional teeth-whitening solutions.

Our in-office whitening procedure involves the application of a high-powered whitening gel three times over the course of an hour. The results are immediate — you will have a gorgeous white smile by the end of your visit.

For our at-home treatment, you will wear whitening gel in custom-fit trays every night for a couple of weeks. The process is slower, but still highly effective. Plus, it offers you the option of stopping when you think your teeth have reached optimum whiteness.

Tooth Bonding and Teeth Contouring

Tooth bonding and teeth contouring are both simple and relatively subtle procedures that can still make a big difference in your smile.

With tooth bonding, we can repair small chips and other imperfections through the use of a composite resin that is added to the problem spots to smooth and cover them. Teeth contouring is the removal of small layers of enamel at the bottoms of the teeth to even them out, slightly reshape them, or fix rough edges.

Gumline Treatments

Did you know we can even cosmetically alter your gums? If you think your gums are too prominent or large in relation to your teeth, that’s what’s known as a “gummy smile.” We can remove gum tissue with a dental laser, making your teeth and gums in perfect proportion. We can also restore gums that are too small, or that have receded from your teeth.
